The Job Landscape in 2022

The Job Landscape in 2022 - World Economic Forum

Companies are beginning to adopt the use of technologies and automation, it has already been increasing over the past few years and task hours performed by machinery will grew to 42% by next year.

It is not a disadvantage for having robotics or automation in companies because more jobs are rising and it is also harder to obtain talented individuals, the demand is more than the supply and with the help of technologies, companies can work more efficiently and save cost at the same time.

Job recruitment agencies may not be impacted heavily by the uprising of technologies because there are still in need of human interactions between recruiters and jobseekers as communications are required to assess the candidates’ behaviours.

We have found a few insights on how the future of jobs will be in 2022 from the World Economic Forum.

1. Jobs Divided by Machines and Humans

It is not often seen that you would see machines replacing human beings in many roles in different industries.

Automation are being implemented in manufacturing firms as employees can be fatigued and unable to use their strength for a whole day.

In the hotel industry, front liners are being replaced by a simple machine stand that guests can just click a few buttons to check in manually.

Meals in restaurants can be easily replaced with robotics or vending machines that eliminate the use of servers.

An average of 71% of total task hours performed by humans would decrease to 58% in 2022.

2. The Growth of Occupations

Every year there are more graduates who are skilful and capable of shaping their ideas into reality, building up companies and jobs where this becomes an advantage for job agencies as recruitment services would be able to help solve recruiting issues.

When more jobs are being created, demanding roles such as IT developers, training and development experts and marketing specialists can shared among humans and machines.

There must be a solution to over demands and resolve the problem of job disruption.

3. New Tasks, New Skills

Though the innovation of technologies have been improving and it can be programmed of doing any tasks that a human can do but regardless of that, they are just machines, incapable of thinking of new ideas or negotiation skills with clients.
Employees and jobseekers can use this opportunity to learn new skills, further enhance themselves to fulfil the challenging roles, they would become irreplaceable and highly wanted by many employers for their talents.

With the job landscape set in 2022, there will definitely be more technologies replacing humans in roles but at the same time, humans have the ability to learn new skills and knowledges to compete against it.
